| The efficiency of the Chinese wheat and soybean futures markets is studied. Formal statistical tests were conducted based on Johansen’s cointegration approach for three different cashmarkets and six different futures forecasting horizons ranging from1 week to 4 months.The results suggest a long-termequilibrium relationship between the futures price and cash price for soybeans and weak short-term efficiency in the soybean futures market. The futures market for wheat is inefficient, which may be caused by overspeculation and government intervention. |

| ABSTRACT In order to establish an optimal soybean embryonic tip regeneration system that can serve as soybean genetic transformation receptor, and be used for the study of genetic function verification, the influences of single factor on the adventitious bud of embryonic tip induction, elongation and rooting stage, are researched and compared.The single factors includes seeds soaking time, different kinds of hormones, different concentration of hormone and different concentration of sucrose. | The food type soybean (exotic) are, in general, non-adapted to the Brazilian growing conditions. A breeding strategy to develop adapted food type soybean should involve crossing exotic with the available grain type genotypes. We evaluated the performance of topcrosses among food type and grain type soybeans. | Este artigo analisa a evolução, no período 1992-2006, do rendimento das pessoas empregadas em empreendimentos cuja atividade principal é uma lavoura, destacando-se cana-de-açúcar, banana, café, soja e milho, utilizando dados da PNAD. Verifica-se que o crescimento do rendimento dessas pessoas no período 2001-2006 está fortemente correlacionado com a variação do salário mínimo real. Em seguida, usando dados do IEA/CATI, analisa-se a evolução da remuneração obtida no estado de São Paulo, de 1995 a 2007, nas empreitas de colheita de cana, laranja, limão, tangerina, café em coco, café cereja e algodão. | The seed coat is vital for the proper development of soybean seeds and also, after their physiological maturity, for providing protection against various biotic and abiotic factors. The aim of this work was to evaluate the relative expression of three candidate genes, VINV1, SCB1 and SCS1, which are possibly involved in seed quality, in the contrasting seed coats of four soybean genotypes. Two yellow seed coat genotypes, BMX Potência RR and CD 202, and two black seed coat genotypes, TP and IAC, were used.
